The Job...

So...

I've officially been working for Incomm for 5 days. I've been assigned to customer care, and the work is sheer hell (well not exactly, but believe you me, it's close enough to make an eternity of being pain and horror seem more preferable.), I swear my english is suffering as well. The work isnt hard but it's tiresome. It's quite mind numbing having to listen to people bitch and whine about thier phones every single day and almost all of them seem to have this notion that our sole purpose is to service him/her, only.

No matter how many times we tell them that there are other mobiles that were sent in before them, they still go on and on about how we're taking sooo long to get to thier phone. The pay is peanuts, I get paid a grand total of 10 dollars a day. The sales staff get 15, which is way whacked considering I do alot more work. I'm really considering asking for a raise or else I'm gonna quit. To much work for to little pay = extortion, I don't care if I was hired as a "part timer".

That's another thing that gets me. I'm supposed to be a "part-time" employee. Can anyone clarify the definition of "part-time" for me? I'm working 9 to 6, 6 days a week, which is the exact same hours as the so called "full-time" employees, I do just as much work as them and get barely a fraction of the pay. meh...

Anyway, If anyone has a problem with their phones, come see me, I might not be able to get you a discount, but if you ask nicely I might just be able to speed things up a bit. ehehehehe. ^^
cheers.

W.o.W!!

The post below was copied from http://gamesradar.com, and I take no credit for writing it. I've never actually played World of Warcraft, but due to my lack of finanacial support(no bloody credit card) and far more persuasive arguements as to why it sucks, i've never tried. Here's an article detailing one man's dislike of a game we should all be hating. lol.

World of Warcraft

Hated by: Staff Contributor Tyler Nagata

MMORPG = Mostly Men Online Role-Playing as Girls. With over five million users worldwide, World of Warcraft can boast a virtual population that rivals the city of Los Angeles, California. With such a large pool of players, you can count on meeting your fair share of soon to be divorced husbands masquerading as sexy Night Elves as they swan and swoon over flirtatious 16 years old boys plying their cyber-sex skills for some spare gold.

When you're not competing with farmers - players who repeatedly kill the same monsters over and over again to sell gold and items online - you can always brush up on your l337 speak by turning to the general chat channel for some of the worst internet arguments of all time.

PlayerA: OMG ony wtf pwnd us 4 teh tenth time
PlayerB: STFU u noob
PlayerA: /cry

Translation:
PlayerA: Oh my god, Onyxia has defeated our group ten times and I've lost 8 hours of my life.
PlayerB: Shut the f*ck up you loser.
PlayerA: I am crying because you are right.

Above: A sultry elf. About a million little icons on the screen. Pages of tedious text. Do we have to explain why you should hate this game?

If you manage to find a group of like-minded friends and form a guild, you can look forward to six hour marathons and repeated deaths as you attempt to conquer the game's hardest dungeons in 40 man raid groups. Frustration from repeated failures in these epic dungeon trips will eventually turn you and your friends against each other before your guild dissolves and joins the ranks of other burnt out crusades. "Make sure to invest in a headset so you can listen to insults fly as tempers flare in the never ending online drama that is World of Warcraft." - Tyler

For a friend...

I was listening to this song and thought of a friend of mine who's going through a rough patch. Lets call her H. I hope this song gives you the strength you need. Love you H. *hugs*

Crooked Teeth by Death Cab For Cutie

It was one hundred degrees, as we sat beneath a willow tree,
Who's tears didn't care, they just hung in the air, and refused to fall, to fall.

And I knew I'd made a horrible call,
And now the state line felt like the Berlin wall,
And there was no doubt about which side I was on.

Cause I built you a home in my heart,
With rotten wood, it decayed from the start.

Cause you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I braved treacherous streets,
And kids strung out on homemade speed.
And we shared a bed in which I could not sleep,
At all, woo, hoo, woo, hooOoOo.

Cause at night the sun in retreat,
Made the skyline look like crooked teeth,
In the mouth of a man who was devouring, us both.

You're so cute when you're slurring your speech,
But they're closing the bar and they want us to leave.

And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I'm a war, of head versus heart,
And it's always this way.
My head is weak, my heart always speaks,
Before I know what it will say.

And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
There were churches, theme parks and malls,
But there was nothing there all along.

The Interview.

So Today...

I went for an job interview at Incomm. It was an odd experience. There were about 5 others ahead of me waiting in the "interview" room (I believe it was just a confrence room of some sort). It was so silent. It was so quiet that it would have had to get louder in order for someone to call it pin-drop silence. The interview itself was short, they asked me questions and I tried to, as vuina put it, "wow them with my superior command of the language", Lol. Doubt they noticed. They asked me what I was good at, and I said I was good at talking, which most of you already know. Hopefully, I'll be able to land a sales position =P. No Idea yet. haha. Will update when they call me.

On another note, Vuina and Ivan Chin got in to JIS for form 6!! CONGRATS YOU TWO!!! =D I'm not exactly sure who else applied for it, but if you got in, congratulations to you as well =)

Singapore oh Singapore....

Lol, I'm such a terrible blogger. All my posts are days late. Anyway, I just got back from Singapore early monday morning, like 1:30am. Lol. The flight was cool, last few rows were empty so I managed to get one and lie out. We had this V.I.P. , whoever he/she was and because of he/she they rushed everyone on the plane first so that he/she could board last. Like wtheck...seriously. And when we arrvied in Brunei, we had to dock with a "special" area meant for the V.I.P. only, so it was like another 15 minutes before we actually got off the plane. So very exasperating.

On another note, Singapore was really fun. On day one I went to my favourite bookstore; Borders and bought about 200 dollars worth of books. (crazy right?) According to one of my mom's friends Borders Singapore makes the most money per square metre, lets just say that's alot of money. Oh and on the same day (after my Borders shopping spree), we went to visit another of my mom's friends, and she told us she had 30% discount coupons for Borders. I was flabberghasted!!

The food was, as usual, exceptional. My picks for restaurants that you should definitely visit (in no particular order) are:
  1. Big O's Cafe
  2. Carl Jr.'s
  3. Crystal Jade Restaurants, (both the ones at Ngee Ann City and the one at Paragon)
  4. Burger King (LOL. I'm sorry, I just had to)
  5. Sakae Sushi
  6. Sushi Tei (It's a tottaly different restaurant then the one here, Sushi Tei Brunei is just using the same name)
My favourite picks for shopping destinations on this trip (again, in no particular order) are:
  1. Ngee Ann City (Takashimaya)
  2. Raffles City
  3. Far East Plaza
  4. Lucky Plaza
  5. Funan Centre (I.T. Mall)
  6. Sim Lim Square
  7. Vivo City
  8. Shaw House
  9. Pacific Plaza
  10. Wheelock Place
Ah I can't wait to go back to Singapore again Lol. Alright, that's all from me for now, I'll be leaving you guys with two new shots I took at Wheelock Place. Cheers =)
