Rain

"let he who is without sin cast the first stone..."
_____________________________________________________
It's raining now but why does it rain?

Every time it rains I feel it, like I'm standing out there, each drop suspended in the cold, damp air...waiting. Waiting for the moment when it hits the ground and it's gone in the blink of an eye. That perfect raindrop, beautiful in all aspects, from all angles...just gone. What would it be like to stand there? Able to see each drop before it fell, and hearing the sound of those that fall, that hollow note, just one but one sound that echoes through all eternity. Our lives are like raindrops, perfect yet utterly fragile, beautiful yet so flawed and then when we least expect it, our lives end...the raindrop hits the ground. They say a raindrop is made of three parts water and one part dirt. How different are they from our lives? All of us have dirt in our lives, all of us have sinned, some...more than others. Is it really so hard to imagine that perfect raindrop being the least bit dirty? The truth is that we, like raindrops never fall without dirt...without sin. A raindrop, like us, has it's purity, it is 3 parts water. For all the good that we have done, some of us still come out more dirty than the raindrop. If only we could be like it,three parts water, one part dirt. Never completely clean but more so than it is dirty. If we're not cleaner than a single drop of rain then we should strive to be like it and then after...we should strive to remove all the dirt from our lives and then maybe...maybe we'll find that flawless raindrop...four parts water, zero parts dirt...utterly pure.
